ABSTRACT: The State Geological Institute of Dionyz Stur (SGUDS) has accomplished special exploration works in the surrounding of Zlatá Idka during the period 2000-2004. Works were focused on receiving and elaboration of all relevant data on geological element of the environment (rock environment, water, soil), considering the relation to silver and antimony ore deposits and remains of extensive historical mining activity. The motive for realisation of works was asking for cooperation from the State health institute in Košice, working on project Estimation of health risk from arsenic and antimony presented in the environment of Zlatá Idka village. The most weighty fact was its localization in spring area of Ida creek, the main feeder of Bukovec water reservoir and utilization of mine waters for village water supply. Synthesis of acquired results was basis for following common interpretation of geological and medical data on health state of inhabitants.
