ABSTRACT: Organic matter degradation by aerobic respiration is of ten used in soil and groundwater remediation technologies. Consequently every technological process design should rise from laboratory tests inc1uding respiration process rate and total oxygene consumption measurings. On the base of the test results we should choose the convenient technological design. The most convenient solution for groundwater remediation is probably pure oxygene application, which allows to preserve every advantage of aerobic respiration. B alance of oxygene consumption in every stage of the technological process and dynamics of it´s feeding are determining factors of the effects, time and especially the economical costs of the remediation technology.
