ABSTRACT: This contribution evaluates the karstic-fissure waters of the Borinka karst. Their aquifer is the Jurassic limestone, which belongs to the envelope sequence of the Malé Karpaty Mts. Defined are four basic water circuit systems with different conditions determining the chemical composition of waters. Discussed are the problems related to protection of groundwaters, which are partly us ed for the water management purposes. Permanently increased concentration of nitrates in waters of this stmcture calI s for more stringent criteria to be taken against the human activities in this area.
