ABSTRACT: Groundwater is a very important component of water circulation in nature, it is indispensable in every country’s wealth. Ensuring protection of its sustainable use is the most important requirement for preserving the quality of life, health of natural conditions and economic development of each company. Groundwater is the main source of drinking water in Slovakia. This paper assesses water regime and drought occurrence recorded at 116 gauging station in the Slovak groundwater monitoring network. This comprises 87 groundwater level gauging stations and 29 spring yield gauging stations. We employ the SANDRE French Institute method used in the "French Data Reference Centre for Water" in evaluating the hydrological period from 2013 to 2015.
