Comparison of the groundwater runoff in different geological conditions of selected Western Carpathian watersheds using the method of Kille and BFI model
ABSTRACT: Comparison of the groundwater runoff in different geological conditions of selected Western Carpathian watersheds using the method of Kille and BFI model. Groundwater is the object of all hydrogeological studies. This article describes partial findings of a study dedicated to quantification of groundwater ratio in total water runoff in the country of Slovakia. The main goal of this study is to distinguish the amount of groundwater from the surface water in the total amount of water in the surface watercourses of a watershed. On the example of thirteen specific watersheds, a relationship between effective precipitation, total runoff and groundwater runoff is described in the article. The watershed's basic physical-geographic parameters are evaluated. The basic characteristics of the drainage regime of individual watersheds are described based on available data on average daily discharges and effective precipitation. Furthermore, the influence of hydrogeological properties of the watersheds on groundwater runoff, as well as runoff components ratio is assessed.
