ABSTRACT: Mineral water outlets in the Carpathian flysh zone near Bardejov are connected with regional tectonic faults ranging to great depths. Documented levels of the Carpathian underlier point out the extent of the vertical and horizontal movements on these zones. Geologically, the origin of these syngenetic waters is found in the Obidowa - Slopnice - Zboj unit, but due to chemical and isotope composition they are probably waters from the Neogene basin s in the Carpathian underlying strata. These waters were primarily metamorphic by the C02 inlets and with the help of gaslift pushed into the tectonic breccias of the individual fold scales. Afterwards, in the Magura unit they are subsequently mixed with mineral and fresh groundwaters.
