ABSTRACT: East Slovakian Waterworks Košice manages the majority of waterworks in eastern Slovakia. This pilot project was established to meet the demands for a review of groundwater drinking source conditions, by assessing utilization and accessibility throughout the Sobrance county. This submission first focuses on description of geological settings and hydrogeology, with detailed study of the occurrence and catchment of groundwater and surface water sources, including their current qualitative and quantitative characteristics. The current situation in the supply of public drinking water is then analyzed, with final examination of county connection to the public water conduit grid. The descriptions and analysis result in balanced evaluation of groundwater sources and their needs in the Sobrance county, with solution proposals focused on balanced deficiency.
